The Mazda CX-3 claims a 0-100 km/h time of 9.2 seconds. In independent testing, the crossover clocked in at 9.5 seconds, slightly lagging behind the manufacturer's assertion. The top speed is governed at a modest 190 km/h, aligning well with its urban-centric design. The quarter-mile is dispatched in a leisurely 17.0 seconds, underscoring its focus on style and comfort rather than outright speed. Braking from 100-0 km/h is completed in 38 meters, with commendable stability and minimal drama, albeit not the shortest in its class.
The naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine delivers 148 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque with a smooth, linear power delivery typical of Mazda's engineering philosophy. There's no turbo lag to contend with, but the engine lacks the punchy mid-range of forced induction rivals. The exhaust note is subdued, offering a muted growl that maintains a refined cabin ambiance.
